What We Collect

AI-Buzz collects limited data to operate the site and keep research pages useful:

  • Newsletter email addresses - when you voluntarily subscribe to research email alerts.
  • Account information - email address and authentication profile data when you create an optional account through Clerk.
  • Followed companies - company pages you follow from your account.
  • Analytics data - page views, referrer domains or campaign source labels, on-site search interaction metadata (not raw search terms), and privacy-masked usage reports from Google Analytics (GA4) and Microsoft Clarity. These reports help us understand whether research and data pages are useful without storing raw search terms or tying those reports to personal identities in AI-Buzz systems.
  • Standard web logs - IP addresses, browser type, and timestamps, as automatically recorded by our hosting provider (Google Cloud Run).

How We Use Your Data

  • Newsletter emails are used solely to send AI-Buzz research updates through Resend.
  • Account data is used to authenticate you and make followed companies available across devices.
  • Analytics data helps us understand which pages and features are most useful.
  • We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Cookies and Tracking

AI-Buzz uses Google Analytics (GA4) and Microsoft Clarity to understand site usage, navigation patterns, and usability issues. Clarity may provide session replay and heatmap reports with input masking enabled; we use those reports only to find product usability issues. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Data Sources

Company data displayed on AI-Buzz is aggregated from public sources including npm, PyPI, GitHub, and Hacker News. This data is factual and publicly available. For details on our data collection methodology, see our Methodology page.

Your Rights

  • You can unsubscribe or manage newsletter preferences using the Resend-managed link in each email.
  • You can unfollow companies from your account page.
  • You can request deletion of your email address, account record, and followed companies by contacting us.
  • You can opt out of analytics tracking using browser settings or extensions.

Data Retention

Newsletter email addresses are managed in Resend and retained there until you unsubscribe or request deletion. Account records and followed companies are retained while your account remains active or until you request deletion. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics default settings (14 months). Web server logs are retained by Google Cloud Run according to their data retention policy.
